Are You Being Groomed By An Internet Money Whore?

Updated 03/02/2010

Well, are you?

How do you know?

Here’s an interesting article that I came across recently entitled “Social Network Marketing is the Foundation For a Great Online Business” (see below). It explains how to manipulate unsuspecting and ultimately trusting people into parting with their hard earned using the popular Social Networks. You can find MANY more articles like it by using internet search engines: “social network” marketing and “social network” mlm etc.

Read the article VERY CAREFULLY, over and over if you’ve never come across this before until you understand the process … its not very long and you, your family and friends might be glad you did one day!!

As my old granny used to say when I was a young ‘un, “if you don’t know about this silent manipulation of the Social Networks, how can you defend yourself from it! Remember that boy, remember …”

This article claims to expose 5 Common MLM & Network Marketing Myths.

I’m don’t hold the opinion that MLM is totally wrong because I don’t know enough about it, maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, who knows.

What I DO believe though, is that WILFUL MANIPULATION OF PEOPLE FOR PERSONAL MONETARY GAIN IS.

Social Network Marketing is the Foundation For a Great Online Business

Most successful internet marketers today are using social network marketing as an effective way to prospect and promote. This article will give some ideas for you to consider for your benefit.

Social networking started out years ago as a way for people to make friends and stay in touch with others of similar interests via the internet. Over time it has become an excellent way for businesses to make targeted and immediate contact with the masses.

Basically it is a very quick and effective form of viral marketing. This is great for those with a good reputation and not so great for the others.

The success in social network marketing comes from successfully targeting and offering the right product to the right market. It’s also about helping others.

You do not want to enter social networking for the sole purpose of selling. If you do you will quickly be discovered and will gain a negative reputation which you absolutely don’t want on the internet.

Your goal with social network is to develop a brand for yourself. You do this by attraction marketing. The more you share your wealth of knowledge the more you will become known as an expert in your field.

Once you do that you have branded yourself as a go to person. It’s at that point that you will have the credibility you need in order to drive readers (potential customers) to your sites. So where do you start?

There are many social networking forums to get your profile out there. MySpace and Facebook are well known. There is also LinkedIn which has a reputation for specifically connecting professionals. And of course Twitter is hugely popular.

There are a variety of other social networking sites that can be utilized. Most of these are free to join. There are a few that have a basic monthly fee, but with these you usually have other services and benefits within the site.

It’s interesting to note that many companies are devoting time and people to developing specific social marketing strategies as they now fully realize the potential of this vehicle.

The real key to effective social network marketing hasn’t changed from the key to regular effective social networking. You must approach it with the attitude of giving rather than receiving.

Those that are successful with this are those that provide information needed to overcome a challenge or to fill a need, etc. They are involved with the spirit giving and not just taking.

Once an audience of followers has been established it is then ethical to passively promote and market your business interests. You will more than likely be able to build a solid customer base from that strategy.

Using Social Network Marketing to Grow Your MLM Business

By Jeff Hoffman, Internet Entrepreneur

Using social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube can be a great way to sponsor new distributors into your network marketing business. But, you’ve got to go about it in the right way, or your social network marketing efforts won’t add much to your MLM team.

Think of the social networking sites as a big, fun party where you can meet and mingle with people that share your interests. Would you try to recruit someone into your MLM business right when you meet someone at a party in real life? Not if you’re smart. The first step is simply to get to know someone.

After getting to know someone a little, maybe you invite them over to your place next week for a barbeque. There, you wine and dine them further, building the relationship. Eventually, you talk to them about your MLM, but only after you’ve offered them value first. In the online world, you do the same thing by inviting them to your blog or personal website… that’s the barbeque where you give them free stuff and build trust.

Social network marketing operates on a much larger scale, though, with many more people than you’d see at a friendly get-together. So, you need to develop content that makes you stand out as “the life of the party.” Not literally, but figuratively… draw people to you.

In summary, to build your MLM business using social network marketing, you need to put your MLM behind the scenes, and focus on being friendly, helpful, and popular at the big party.

So you see, its quite easy to be fooled by someone with the experience and expertise to pull it off.
