Common sense tells us that present government only have “authority” because of past history, and that authority is the authority of the Conqueror. The authority to rule and govern the people of England in 1066 was TAKEN by FORCE… it was not GIVEN FREELY.
You can prove that authority should be GIVEN FREELY by reducing the human population down to just two people. If one person FORCEABLY TAKES authority WITHOUT the CONSENT of the other then that is TYRANNY. It’s that simple. Common sense.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. – Article 1, Universal Declaration of Human Rights
William the Conqueror’s authority was TAKEN by (DEADLY) FORCE, (as his title implies and the history books boast) and is the same authority that the parliament of today have inherited. This tyrannical authority is what has evolved over time to what it is today. Its not quite so brutal (in the physical sense) as it once was, but mentally, it draws on the same fears using the same methods (threats, fines, kidnap and imprisonment (… and until very recently … death)). Its the exact same authority!! If it wasn’t, there would be a build in mechanism that deals with tyranny, cronyism and corruption within parliament … which is yet to come!
Real authority should be in the form of:
I trust you and I FREELY GIVE you the authority to do my bidding on the understanding that, if that trust is broken then so is this agreement, thus external authority is rescinded and denied.
… or something very much like that!
This is what we as the people of our country should be working toward. If we need a group of people to act as government or “representative’s” then we should GIVE them the authority FREELY because it’s the right thing to do and in OUR best interests.
On 10th December 1948 after the last war was “won”, the government of Britain signed a pledge on behalf of the people of this country, in recognition of the inalienable rights outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, also to observe, uphold, protect, and teach those rights in schools … they haven’t done that!
Now, therefore, The General Assembly proclaims
This Universal Declaration Of Human Rights as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction.– Preamble, Universal Declaration of Human Rights
You have to ask your self “WHY NOT?”
I think that it’s because they’re afraid of something. I think that those individuals in privileged positions of power are afraid of … US!
I think that they realise that they, their families and heirs will lose most of what they have. But most of all and, what they fear the most, is losing their power over other people.
THAT’S why they are afraid of what the Universal Declaration of Human Rights represents.
By losing their absolute “authority” over the masses they acquire a new status … they become EQUAL to the rest of us!
Just because those in government choose to ignore their obligation, it does NOT mean that “WE” have to ignore what was pledged on OUR BEHALF. In fact, it’s in our very best interest to make the slight change in our lives to carry out that pledge by recognising, upholding and protecting the principles of the UDHR. It will completely change our lives and the world around us. We will have evolved into something worth bragging about.
We have an obligation (passed on to us and brought about because of the hardships and deaths that our families went through during those years of fighting, for OUR rights and freedoms) that must now be honoured. The Declaration is the trophy that our families EARNED IN FULL and to give up on those hard won rights and freedoms would be a disgrace and shameful to their names.
We have an obligation to continue to protect, what those that lost their lives, lost it for to protect.
Otherwise, what was the point?
Eleanor Roosevelt presents the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to the UN General Assembly for acceptance:
The UDHR came about due to the bravery, courage and to the great cost of our past families and it is OURS!!! It belongs to every last one of us … all we need do is CLAIM IT.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
The UDHR isn’t a legally binding document … and thank fuck for that!!!
… because if it were, then they (the government) could bastardise it to suit themselves and their cronies, like they seem to do with everything else when it suits them.
Is that a bit harsh or untrue?
YOU KNOW IT ISN’T!!
No government can touch the UDHR because it wasn’t created by them, it was created by human beings for human beings.
What it is though, is a Declaration, or rather a UNIVERSAL pledge that was AGREED to and signed by the leaders of this country and leaders of 40 odd other countries on behalf of the people and FOR the people. It’s a Declaration of fundamental rights and freedoms that are fully recognised as the foundation of human dignity, and improves on it’s predecessor The Magna Carta.
It was conceived as a STANDARD for the worlds countries to strive toward, setting out fundamental rights which we all wish to have recognised, because in general, they are right and just (I’m sure you would agree with that).
The fact that individuals in our government and “big business” ignore the principles of the UDHR DOES NOT mean that WE have to. Quite the opposite in fact. This is OUR planet, it belongs to ALL OF US and if the vast majority want to live observing the principles of the UDHR then it’s up to US to make those that REPRESENT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE aware of the FACT and act accordingly! This is the most important point … WE MUST MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE FACT!
The UDHR is REAL and believe it or not, most people are unaware of it. If used correctly, it WILL be the basis of the good times ahead. Anyone arguing AGAINST the principles of the UDHR is obviously arguing for tyranny and slavery and should be removed from their PRIVILEGED position of power at all costs by any lawful means necessary.
IT BELONGS TO US AND CANNOT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM US, EVER! ( … unless we never use it or never INSIST on it being adhered to of course! 😉 )
As it belongs to us, we should use it!
We should use it whenever ANYONE or ANY GROUP acts against the principles of our Declaration, because our Declaration is how WE WILL INSIST that we are treated and how we will treat each other.
The laws will have to be changed to reflect this.
Can anyone come up with any just reason why we shouldn’t strive to ensure that those individuals acting in the position of government adhere to the pledge signed by this country in 1948?
I think tyrannically minded individuals of a government might object to reason and common sense, but the ordinary man in the street will not.
You have to ask yourself WHY (as was pledged in the preamble of the UDHR) isn’t the UDHR and it’s history being taught in schools?
On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the full text of which appears in the following pages. Following this historic act the Assembly called upon all Member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration and “to cause it to be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction based on the political status of countries or territories.” – http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/
So here we have it,
WE HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE.
Either do nothing and end up with a One World Government where the (very) few dictate and control how the rest of the worlds population live (and potentially even IF they live),
ADOPT THE PRINCIPLES OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AS OUR OWN, BE NICE TO EACH OTHER, OBSERVE EACH OTHERS BASIC RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, AND DEFEND THEM WHEN NECESSARY – SIMPLE.
